Motion

The human body is meant to function on solid ground with air surrounding it. Due to this fact, together with the high density of water, divers' movements underwater are slow and clumsy. Divers are rather limited in their ability to move and execute actions, which out of the water are easy to do. The diver must be aware of this relative slowness of movements in the water, and not count on the normal response time he has on land. When diving, one must use the fins in order to improve movement abilities.

The ability to establish neutral buoyancy is one of the main characteristics that distinguishes experienced diver from beginner diver. with neutral buoyancy one can move in the water much more easily. Generally, good buoyancy control reduces air consumption.
