Rule number 1: Observe-Plan-Act! Is also valid for diving with a computer.
It is true that the dive computer shows us the bottom time according to our true diving depth, but this does not mean that we can give up planning the diving profile. Quite the opposite!
The dive computer may allow us longer bottom times than the amount of air we have in the scuba cylinders. Therefore, before each dive, as part of the diving planning, we will also plan the diving profile, just as we would with the help of the dive tables. Dive planning using a computer is more efficient because at the end of a dive, the computer continues to work. He constantly calculates the surface interval: the time that elapses from the end of the dive until the beginning of the descent to the next dive.
In order to plan the diving profile, we need to enter the dive plan page. Using the computer buttons, we can select the desired depth and check the maximum bottom time. The dive computer constantly updates the surface interval time and accordingly the bottom time will be updated to each depth.
As it happens, the majority of divers fail to plan their dives in advance. They simply turn on the dive computer - and "shut down" the brain.
Before diving, we can plan the dive profile the same as with planning using a dive table. In order to do this, we need to enter the PLAN page :
Pay attention!
Planning the dive profile via a dive computer will give us a profile very similar to that we will get when planning with a dive tables, since, as with the table, the dive computer does not know what our real dive profile will be, but only what is the maximum depth to which we plan to dive.
